Facebook was originally called Facemash and then Thefacebook.  On it’s launch by Mark Zuckerberg and his Harvard College roommates in February 2004 it was originally only open to Harvard students.  On September 26, 2006, Facebook was opened to everyone at least 13 years old with a valid email address.

Google+ is the “dirty” secret of Social Media – it is often derided and ignored, but business owners do so at their peril!  G+ has an impressive 2.2 BILLION profiles, with 440 Million Monthly Active users.  73% of G+ users are Male, spending an average of 12 minutes a day.  Google+ is a requirement of good SEO practices, after all who can afford to fall foul of Google?

In 2015, 18-49 year-olds spent 4% less time watching TV while time on YouTube went up 74%

It now has now has 400 million active users, with 75% of Instagram users outside of the US.  Impressively, Over 60% of users log in daily, making it the second most engaged network after Facebook.
